Dentist

I attended the University of Michigan for both my Bachelor and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees. I graduated dental school in 2006 and started practicing as an associate with a southeast Michigan dental group. I began private practice shortly after in 2008, when I started Great Lakes Dentistry. I continued the practices originally founded by Drs. Brown, Lang, and Strugala.

My practice philosophy is to provide all our patients’ dental treatment under one roof using the most advanced technologies available. I need to stay up to date with the most recent advancements in treatment modalities, so I commit several days to continuing education every year. I’ve taken advanced education courses in the areas of intravenous (IV) sedation, sleep dentistry, dental implant placement, surgical bone grafting, traditional orthodontics, Six Month Smiles® cosmetic braces, and laser dentistry.

Our young family has grown significantly over the past couple years. My wife, Sharla, and I were married in 2011, and we welcomed our first son, Max, in 2012. Exactly one year later, on the same day, our second son, Xavier, was born. Most recently, our first daughter, Elizabeth, was born in June 2014.

I truly want to make you feel comfortable as a patient at Great Lakes Dentistry, so if you have any concerns or questions about your experience in our office, please email me personally at DrVan@GLDentistry.com so I can personally take care of you.

Dr. Raymond Kim is passionate about all aspects of dentistry, and is excited to meet and work with members of this practice and community.  He would love to make your acquaintance!  Stop on in at anytime and say hello to the newest associate at Great Lakes Dentistry.

I’ve always felt comfortable and welcomed at the office. Everything about being an employee at Great Lakes Dentistry is pleasant.

Dental Hygienist

Paula was first a patient before joining our dental team.  As an energetic and accomplished dental hygienist, Paula is proud of her clinical history where she strives for high levels of individual attention and results-oriented experiences for her patients.  In July 2012, Governor Rick Snyder appointed Paula to the Michigan Board of Dentistry. She is one of our dental hygienists, who serve on this Board.  Paula also serves on The Commission on Dental Competency Assessments (CDCA). Paula functions as a Dental Hygiene Examiner, as well as IT-Data personnel for the dental exams.

When not at the office, Paula can be found on the golf course, enjoying her pool, or traveling wherever the wind blows.  She looks for any excuse to join her husband, Owen, or family and friends in playing nine holes of golf.  An avid sports fan, Paula prefers watching hockey over football (college). Her two daughters, Victoria and Danielle, always add a little extra spice to her life
